By now we all have heard that Pantone has announce the color of 2020 is Classic Blue! ‘A shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk’ doesn’t that just sound absolutely beautiful?
We are so excited to see what all the creative couples do this year as they try to integrate this color into their color schemes for their wedding day.
“It’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next,” said Laurie Pressman
I am definitely in anticipation of what creativity will come this year with this classic color. If you are in need of some inspiration, check out our Pinterest board for some inspiration and ideas for your very own special day.
There are so many wonderful options to incorporate this color into any design, from statement pieces in your wardrobe, decor around the venue, or special touches that mean something special to you.
Here are a few of our top favorite ways to show case this year’s color:
Having a statement piece as part of the reception decor just elevates it to another level, just take a look at this piece from Bea from @addyflorales.
One of my favorite ways to incorporate a pop of color is by adding one piece into your style, it could be earrings, shoes or purse that will bring that pop and still keep you looking like a classic beauty.
A better questions would actually be: why haven’t you hired one yet?
Yes of course I’m bias to this topic, this is what I do, I plan weddings! But don’t just take my word for it, if you have any friends that have gotten married, ask them what was the benefit of hiring their wedding planner and if they didn’t, if they would do it different.
I’m confident on what the answer to that will be because all of my couples have agreed on that, hiring a wedding planner, was the best thing they could have done.
It not only reduces, if not completely eliminate the stress that comes with wedding planning but it allows you to really enjoy your wedding and the months that lead to it.
Your wedding day is for you, your beginning to a new life together. Make sure to take a moment and mentally and emotionally capture the day. It goes by so fast, it truly does. So stop and take a moment to capture the special feeling and meaning of this day. Take a mental image that will stay with you for a lifetime.
If you are still on the fence whether to hire a wedding planner or not, I’m sharing with your a couple articles that will give you more information on the perks of having a planner by your side to help you plan your wedding.
So everyone is searching and looking out for the new wedding trends for 2019 from colors, decor, to location. So I’m here to break the news to you.
The trend for this year is…..YOU!!
Your wedding day is your time to show off your personality and style. Also this is the first event you both get to host as a couple, so show your love and appreciation to your family and friends!
This is the time to create a memorable experience not just for the both of you but for all your guest. So let your creativity flow and show your style and love on your wedding day, don’t feel restricted by what the ‘trends’ for the year but let your personality take center stage and something that will me unique and memorable.
We live in a time of instant gratification, don’t you agree? So what would be more satisfying that being able to relive your most precious wedding day with a video!
Here I’m including a few questions you can use to decide who would be your best fit:
What got you into filming? What is your favorite part of filming weddings?
This will give you a great idea of his passion and what drives him and make a connection on his style and yours. This will be a video you watch for many years to come and you want someone that will be as involved and passionate about it as you are.
How would you describe your style?
For filming there are two styles: documentary , cinematic or a mix of both. You will want to get a sense of his/her style and make sure their style aligns with yours. Ask for samples of their work that will allow you to see how professional they are and the kind of work they do.
Have you worked with my photographer? Are you familiar with him/her?
Photographers and Videographers work closely throughout your event to capture every moment in the best way possible. Being familiar with each other and styles will allow them to work seamlessly together. If they have never worked together, it’s okay, just make sure they have a chance to meet beforehand to talk about their format and how they want to capture that night.
Will they have a second shooter, a stationary camera or any other backup cameras around for your wedding?
A second shooter, or a backup camera will allow for him/her to capture more moments throughout the night. Without it, it can be nearly impossible for the videographer to capture every moment on camera. Most packages include a second shooter but its always best to double check.
Yes Pantone, who we all know as the authority on color, has announced that Living Coral is the color for 2019! Are you excited about this?! I love all colors, so I’m pretty excited to see how all 2019 brides use their creativity to incorporate this color into their color schemes.
I personally don’t own many Coral items because I find other colors complement my skin tone better but for some of you, like my sister, Coral is or could be your color, not just for this year but a staple that you can continue to use on your regular wardrove.
Pantone describes the hue as: “An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”

Here are a few wedding planning to-dos you can do later.
Call your parents and close family/friends.
Before you do anything, take a moment and call those that are special to you and share the news with them! They will love and appreciate hearing the news directly from you both rather than thru any social media outlet. Also is you know who your girls will be, call them and let them be excited with you. You don’t have to ask them to be your bridesmaid just yet but do share the excitement of the moment. After you have shared with all your loved ones and important to you, so ahead and share on social media if you wish to do so…Instagram be ready to be flooded with images!
Protect your new ring.
Your ring is more than just a new accessory and it’s more than just a sentimental piece, it is an investment and your fiancé will definitely feel the same way. Protect it by getting it insured. Here is an article from The Knot that breaks down the Engagement Insurance 101 to help you out with this process.
Set the date/season.
This will help you narrow down venue and vendors knowing when they need to be booked and if they are available for your wedding. After being asked: “How did he proposed?” “Can I see the ring?” you will get asked “when is the wedding?” so pick a date and start narrowing down plans.
June, August, September and October are usually the most popular months so keep that in mind when choosing your date and how much time you have to book your vendors. Winter wedding are becoming popular and can be a beautiful options if you get creative and plan ahead.
Create a guest list: think of who is important for you both and who you would love to share this special day with. Discuss and set a budget and think of which area you would like to get married. These factors may require conversations with family, which is important to have before you make all these decisions.
Choose your vendors.
If you have a venue, caterer, florist you have been eyeing and would love to have for your wedding, most likely is that other recently engaged couples do to. So don’t delay and reach out to them before they get booked!
Lets be honest, you probably already have a board with your wedding planned: colors, decor, venue. Great job for being a dreamer and planning ahead, you have saved your self time and stress by having this already done. But don’t let that hold you back from adding a few more pins here and there. And just in case you are a rare gal that are not on Pinterest yet, here are my Pinterest boards I have created to give you some inspiration and get you started.
This is the fun part, you probably already have an idea of the type of dress you would love to wear for your special day. Have fun and enjoy this part with your mom and girls as you get to try all those gorgeous gowns!!

Trust me you will be glad you did! Having decided all your basics and having an idea of your design inspiration , a planner will help you to bring that inspiration into life and take the stress away leaving you with time to sit back and enjoy these special moments.
