How to Manage Stress During Your Wedding Planning Process

Life on its own is very stressful, let alone when planning a wedding! Wedding planning, althought stressful, should be a process you should enjoy and look back with fond memories. So let’s focus on the happy parts of the this process and gracefully get through the planning process. You’re probably saying “yeah, easier said than done!” and you are totally right! I have been there myself, planning our own wedding and having to deal with difficult situations. Oh, I have stories to tell you, trust me. This is why I am writing this to help you avoid the same mistakes and overlook stressful situations that will come up.


Talk with yourself first!

The first step in this process is to know what your habits or weak points are: do you have a hard time saying “No” to people? Do you want to avoid conflict at any cost? Do you have a hard time setting healthy boundaries? Is your vision for your wedding day clear? These habits will be amplified during the wedding process, so we need to understand and recognize what those weak points are. We all have bad habits and weak points, so it’s nothing to feel bad about.

Figuring out solutions before you are faced with them might help you to feel more prepared and know how to handle those situations when they come up. For instance, if you have a family member asking you if they can bring their plus one to your wedding. Have these discussions with your fiance(e) ahead of time and set clear rules/boundaries on what it is that you both want and are okay with. Make each other accountable and create a support system. Having a plan in place will help you to handle those situations and not be caught off guard.

Create a system for you both

Second, make sure you put into place a good routine that will help you manage stress. Replace those weak points with healthy habits. Have a good and consistent workout plan, not just to get wedding ready, but do it for your mental health. Along with a good workout plan, implement a good skin care routine that will help you to not only feel better but halso ave your skin glowing for your wedding day. Taking care of your body from the inside out will help you to feel better overall.

Last, make sure you take time off to celebrate each other. Don’t forget to have date nights that will allow you to connect on a deeper level and not let the planning process take over your relationship. You want this process to be fun and happy. Having a plan together and implementing it early on in the planning process will help you to look back and truly remember this with a warm, fuzzy feeling!
